NEW HEIGHTS BMC MEDIA guides brands, businesses, agencies and start-ups through the concept and development of user-friendly advertising & marketing products, promotions, and strategies that highlight the uniqueness of each brand’s proposition.

PRINT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER


We are seeking a results-oriented Print Development Manager to assist with the design, production and creation of our print directory magazine, as well as visual materials in variety of mediums, which may or may not include: books, magazines, brochures, physical displays, posters and electronic mediums including web design, electronic presentations, and multimedia products.

The Print Development Manager will oversee all aspects of printing and cataloging NEW HEIGHTS BMC MEDIA service offerings. The scope of this position includes purchase planning, specification tracking, and manufacturing management including confirmation of print file integrity through final manufacturing. This role works closely with both Product Development and Operations teams and reports to the Editor-In-Chief/CEO.

The Print Development Manager support the development team in all aspects of originals such as research, ideating and reviewing creative, generating pitch materials, and tracking projects, as well as performs and assists in: image manipulation, file preparation, information layout, physical assembly, and direct customer consultation in addition to normal production activities.

The Print Development Manager is also responsible for identifying intellectual property across mediums (print and web publishing). This position involves collaborating with the entire Production and Operations Teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

Print Product Coordination


  • Act as liaison between product engineers, designers, product managers, and external print vendors to define and confirm overall print specifications for tangible curriculum products including books and manipulatives
  • Ensure the highest quality execution of our products into print
  • Work with the print vendor to execute packaging and labeling for all curriculum products to ensure brand alignment and successful fulfillment
  • Complete pre-release proofing and preflighting, release files to print, and complete final approvals within the vendor's online platform

Print Operations Coordination


  • Work with the Print Vendor and Operations Team to calculate anticipated cost of goods for each product based on provided scales and volumes
  • Prepare and submit print orders with vendors
  • Establish and maintain a product catalog for visibility into material specifications, page counts, ISBN assignments, and print cycles
  • Collaborate integration of print ordering details and specifications into existing Salesforce system
  • Track shipping and receipt of inventory, corresponding to billing in cooperation with Finance

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two-year degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • Two-year minimum employment in a graphics-related field required.
  • Proficient with Unit-specific hardware and software programs.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of typography, type design, form and color theory, proportion and balance, photographic and computer imaging techniques and layout skills.
  • Portfolio review required.
  • Must be flexible, resourceful, and possess strong interpersonal skills while effectively meeting deadlines under pressure
  • Leading education and professional development of cross-functional teams for NHBMC
  • Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment and build rapport with colleagues and clients is critical.
  • Work independently, communicate clearly and concisely, and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of publishing technologies which may or may not include prepress, printing, multimedia, and web publishing
  • Close attention to detail
