NEW HEIGHTS BMC MEDIA guides brands, businesses, agencies and start-ups through the concept and development of user-friendly advertising & marketing products, promotions, and strategies that highlight the uniqueness of each brand’s proposition.


The New Technology & Content Specialist acts as a research liaison for the Art Director and the Web & Digital Development Team. S/he gathers research on new and existing technologies, assists in the development and implementation of print content on websites, and is involved with integrating the work of contributing writers, graphic designers, and print and web development staff to produce a final layout compatible with corporate standards.

The New Technology & Content Specialist also maximizes computer system capabilities by studying technical applications, and streamline and manages technical programs and products through customer service, staff training, and web development – working to provide training materials and instruction, as well as making recommendations to management and other staff members.


The initial staff is expected to assume multiple roles while undertaking multiple responsibilities. Your duties may include:

  • Evaluating system potential by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs
  • Evaluating expansions or enhancements by studying work-load and capacity of computer system
  • Achieving computer system objectives – gathering pertinent data; identifying and evaluating options; recommending actions
  • Confirming new program objectives and specifications
  • Testing new programs, comparing programs with established standards, and making modifications
  • Improving existing programs by reviewing objectives and specifications
  • Evaluating existing programs proposed changes, recommending changes, and making modifications
  • Evaluating vendor-supplied software – studying user objectives and testing software compatibility with existing programs
  • Placing software into production by loading software into computer and entering necessary commands
  • Placing hardware into production by establishing connections and entering necessary commands
  • Maximizing use of hardware and software – training users, interpreting instructions, and answering questions
  • Preparing reference for users by writing operating instructions
  • Maintaining system capability by testing computer components
  • Maintaining historical records by documenting hardware and software changes and revisions.
  • Maintaining client confidence and protecting operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintaining technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications
  • Maintaining professional and technical networks – establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
  • Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed – Problem Solving, Presenting Technical Information, Process Improvement, Software Maintenance, Software Testing, Network Design and Implementation, Load Balancing and Scalability, Vendor Relationships, and Software Performance, Network Performance, and Database Performance Tuning
  • Respecting and maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of NEW HEIGHTS BMC.
  • Complying with and adhering to all NEW HEIGHTS BMC policies and procedures.


Assessing Technical Programs: Assess and analyze all technical programs used by- and/or created by- the company Programing Applications & Online Pages: Create application designs and develop web pages to streamline business processes Performing Technical Support: Provide tech support for programs and applications to both customers and other staff members Training Customers & Staff: Train customers and company staff on apps and products – advising them on best practices for use Designing Training Materials: Materials for other staff to teach them the most efficient methods for using company tech Troubleshooting Products & Services: Troubleshoot technical programs, products, and applications used by the company Redesign Products & Program Services: Redesign products and programs as needed to make them more efficient and effective Researching New Technology: Learn new products and technologies as they become available, finding best methods for use Minimizing Costs: Minimize company costs by finding ways to increase productivity and reduce expenses


  • Problem-solving Skills – Use analytical abilities and problem-solving skills to spot potential problems in applications and programs and resolve them

  • Programming – Use programming skills and languages, such as SQL, to rewrite programs and applications

  • Communication Skills – Use verbal and written communication skills to create training materials and advise staff members on the best ways to use various technology programs and apps

  • Customer Service – Answer customer questions and advise them on using technology, strong customer service skills are essential for this job

  • Organization Skills – Use organization skills to manage multiple tasks at once, keep track of new technological developments, and maintain information on the best ways to use various technical programs

  • Attention to Detail – Have strong attention to detail to spot potential programming problems and find ways to increase company productivity

  • Research – Design training materials, learn new technologies, and find ways to cut company costs, strong research skills are essential for these professionals
