FINANCE MANAGER / CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)

Responsible for the short- and long-term profitability, growth, and financial well-being of the company. The role of Finance Manager involves overseeing the entire Finance Department, as well as working with each management team member of all other respective departments to help them meet their financial goals and provide commercial advice. This includes setting and monitoring annual budgets, looking at which areas of need to invest in, helping to put together a business case for new digital initiatives, and reviewing the performance of each of our advertising product brands once published.

Under the Chief Financial Officer’s guidance, the Finance Department will ensure that budgets and project appraisals are realistic, that the business is operating with strong controls and that performance is effectively monitored. Finance will work with all departments across the business, from Editorial and Sales to Distribution.

The more routine accounting functions for The RTC Directory will be outsourced so that the Finance Department can concentrate on supporting the Sales Director with project appraisals or developing initiatives to improve the company’s cash flow, including communicating the focus of and managing the company’s consumer financing operations and business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

The initial staff is expected to assume multiple roles while undertaking multiple responsibilities. Your duties may include:

• Responsible for developing sales processes, calculating sales commissions, providing pricing and quotes for sales personnel.
• Analyzing product performance and other sales metrics.
• Managing forecasting, sales force automation, and contract compliance and negotiation.
• Overseeing all accounting functions
• Directing the utilization of programs to achieve functions for general accounting, payroll, and cost accounting.
• Preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
• Analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
• Reporting organization's finances to management
• Offering suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
• Preparing, filing, and processing non-income tax base returns for sales and value added taxes
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly reports of e-discovery revenue, labor utilization metrics, and manpower forecasting
• Preparing and analyzing standard accounting and finance reports for management
• Filing department copies of reports/checks/W-9s/ W-8BEN and W-8BEN-Es in digital file
• Processing check requests for payment to vendors
• Assist with issuing 1099s annually.
• Assist with consolidating financial forecasts and explaining associated variances to the budget
• Supporting cost analysts with accounts receivable and billing issues
• Preparing release of claims documents and obtain proper signature approvals
• Supporting proposal pricing and associated profitability analysis
• Creating journal entries for revenue recognition and cost reclassifications.
• Learning and working with enterprise and tax software systems
• Updating and maintaining tax-exempt certificates
